The European Human Genetics Conference 2025 (ESHG 2025), Milan, Italy, 24/05/2025-27/05/2025 has  has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 25.5 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. The daily credit breakdown is as follows:

  • May 24, 2025: 7.5 credits
  • May 25, 2025: 7.5 credits
  • May 26, 2025: 6 credits
  • May 27, 2025: 4.5 credits

Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at www.ama-assn.org/education/earn-credit-participation-international-activities.

Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

How to claim credits?

In-person Participants

To claim CME credits in-person participants will need to scan their badges daily at the CME station located next to the General Information Desk and additionally answer the respective session evaluations, found in the virtual conference platform, by November 30, 2025 at 23:59 CEST (each evaluation will be available once the respective live session has concluded).

To accumulate credits over the conference, delegates will need to participate in sessions from different programme slots from May 24-27, 2025. If they wish to accumulate the full amount possible for the day, they will need to participate and answer the evaluations of at least one session per programme slot.

Below you can find an overview of the maximum credits that participants can claim per programme slot (as soon as the accreditation has been approved).

Online Only Participants

To claim CME credits online only participants will need to watch the respective sessions and additionally answer the respective session evaluations, found in the virtual conference platform, by November 30, 2025 at 23:59 CEST (each evaluation will be available once the respective live session has concluded).

To accumulate credits over the conference, delegates will need to participate in sessions from different programme slots from May 24-27, 2025. If they wish to accumulate the full amount possible for the day, they will need to participate and answer the evaluations of at least one session per programme slot.

Below you can find an overview of the maximum credits that participants can claim per programme slot.

Note: Participants will not be able to accumulate multiple credits from sessions taking place in parallel.

CME credits for the on-demand period (May 27 to November 30, 2025)

It is still possible to accomulate CME points during the on-demand period. To claim your points, you will need to watch the recording of the presentation of interest and then answer the respective session evaluation in which this presentation took place.

Note that the amount of credits that can be claimed are based on the live programme slots mentioned above. Participants will not be able to accumulate multiple credits from sessions taking place in parallel.

Process of claiming credits on the virtual conference platform

  1. Click into the respective session(s) for which you wish to claim CME credits
  2. Click on ‘Add to CME cart’ in the upper right corner
  3. Repeat for all sessions for which you wish to claim CME credits
  4. Go to the tab ‘CME evaluation’ to see the overview of your added sessions
  5. For each session you need to complete the session evaluation by clicking on ‘Session Evaluation’ next to the respective session
  6. Complete the survey and click ‘Submit’
  7. Obtain your CME certificate by clicking on ‘CME Certificate’ in the right menu bar

Note: you can only claim your CME Certificate accordinlgy if all session evaluations of the sessions in your CME cart are completed.
